We met the way all great modern love stories do—by chance, at a bar in Dallas. One look was all it took. Love at first sight wasn’t something either of us believed in… until that moment. In a crowded room, it somehow felt like we were the only two people there.

He said, “I walked by Sarah Kate and saw the most beautiful girl with gorgeous brunette hair looking right at me. I knew I had to say hello.”

She said, “He had the most handsome smile, the prettiest blue eyes I’ve ever seen, and a laugh that made the rest of the room disappear.”

What started as that instant spark became something real, steady, and lasting. Over the past three and a half years, we’ve built a life together—through a year of long distance, two big moves (first to Kansas City, then to Austin), and countless moments in between—learning that home isn’t just a place, it’s who you’re with.

Along the way, we’ve collected traditions and memories that feel entirely our own: Fourth of July weekends in Michigan, family vacations in Mexico, anniversary trips, fiercely competitive Scrabble games, and honestly… more bottles of wine than we should probably admit. It’s been in both the big adventures and the quiet, ordinary nights that we found something truly special.

Somewhere between all of that, we also found our best friend, our safe place, and the person who makes everything better just by being there. The love we’ve built feels joyful, grounding, effortless, and full of adventure all at once.
